haha kaiyang here....was reading off about mentoes explosion. If u wanna get a mentoes xplosion, do not use teh regular tubed mentos coz it wun work properly. You have to get those Original mentos without the waxy shell and flavouring. Thats coz the waxy thing doesn't react with the coke. And its a physical reaction rather than a chemical reaction lolz.....i read it off bout sumtink like this....

When Mentos is dropped into soda, the gelatin and gum arabic of the candy dissolves and breaks the surface tension. This disturbs the water mesh, so that it takes less work to expand and form new bubbles. Each Mentos candy has thousands of tiny pits all over the surface. These tiny pits function as nucleation sites, perfect places for carbon dioxide bubbles to form. As soon as the Mentos enters the soda, bubbles form all over the surface of the candy. The Mentos quickly sinks to the bottom, releasing carbon dioxide as it comes into contact with carbonated liquid along the way. The sudden increase in pressure pushes all of the liquid up and out of the bottle.

yeah...sumtink liddat...can go try one day...must get the original standard mentos. Oh yeah....on discovery also got the mythbusters...tink august tat time they got one episode on mentos explosion. supposedly if u wan explosion, the best is far from using mentos. try throwing in a whole lot of table salt. then the explosion kinda violent
